Crayons are awesome!

Here are some photos Mike took from last weekend when Nadia was sitting in her chair coloring. She can now identify by name 11 colors. She likes to tell us what color all our clothes and her toys are. She even points out that our athletic socks are white AND grey. She is too funny for words!

And I had a hard time deciding which ones I liked as color and which as black and white so I just uploaded them all.  Click on the photo above for the slide show.

Louanne, I hope you have preschools already picked out. Now start interviewing for the best one AND start looking at what elementary schools offer gifted programs. She is WAY beyond where most children are at that age. Naming colors? Amazing!! Let’s put it this way- my four year old is classified as gifted and Nadia is performing above what Miss Boo was at that age. As I’ve learned, it starts showing signs this early. And if she IS gifted, you will always have the challenge of balancing her smarts with her emotions. Gifted kids are often behind a bit emotionally. If this is the case, stay in touch with me and I can forward all the resources I have and research I’ve done. We have Boo in some special programs that have really helped balance out the emotions with the intellect. Also, you might want to look into all the fun toddler classes offered by the Zoo and various museums. That kept Boo engaged and happy at such a young age. Another sign of being gifted is an understanding of the world around her much more intensely than other children her age. That includes relationships, events, and emotions. She is so gorgeous! Enjoy every moment, as I know you are!

Oh, and I use gifted as a blanket term. At this age, they use that word but it also more accurately means she is accelerated. Or maybe she will be gifted in one area or heck, all areas! Boo is gifted in language, reading, and spelling and accelerated in all other subjects. In other words, much smarter than her mama!

She’s so cute and loves her colors! My nephew was really into shapes at about that age – he even knew a trapezoid. I’m not even sure that I know what that is ;)

I love the fountain pony! I can’t wait until Maddy’s hair can do that too.

That is really cool that shes knows her colors, maybe you have a future decorater on your hands : )

    Have a good week!
