Nadia’s Got the Beat! (1:51)
Nadia’s first little dance video. –by Louanne and Nadia (Added May 28, 2008)

NOTE: Apparently the Go Gos believe that a few dozen people watching our daughter jumping around to the tune “We Got the Beat” will cause them to lose their copyright, and cause their record sales to plummet. Consequently, YouTube was forced to remove the sound from the video. Whew! Potential crises averted.

NOTE to the NOTE: It looks like the record industry has gotten smart. After many months the sound is back, but now you’ll see small ads on it and other videos that allow you to buy the song from Amazon or iTunes.

  • nancy peterman

What an amazing blessing! Vern and I are very excited for you both. Mike, I’m guessing that you have been totally wrapped around her tiny little finger already. The joy on both your faces is unmistakable and how precious that Nadia already smiles so sweetly at her daddy!

How Wonderful!!!!!! She is so sweet!

What an amazing time for you!!!

I was very touched at Mikes very pruod and happy smiles. Being a little more sedate than Louanne,(just a tad) I took those smiles as jumping up and down with joy on the inside 🙂

You guys did an awesome job capturing that special moment…you will undoubtedly treasure these videos for ever.

    Enjoy your sweet baby!!

  • Jeanine

How exciting! We LOVED watching the videos and frankly can’t wait to get our hands on that precious baby! (Both boys said…”Isn’t she so cute!”) Unless the sound wasn’t working right, even Louanne was speechless holding her precious new baby girl! Isn’t God sooo good!

I loved seeing the stacking cups and Louanne already encouraging her…you both will be AWESOME parents. Thanks for sharing your special time with us back home….Keep those videos, pictures and updates coming as you have time!

    We’re all still praying!

    Much love,
    Karen, Ken, David and Stephen

  • I see a lot of similarities between her and my Suichuan baby. The way she reacted to you was exactly how Juna reacted to us on Gotcha. The way she is so inquisitive and playful is just how Juna was at the hotel, too. Juna continues to be such a playful little girl. Congrats and thanks for posting the video!

  • Congratulations….She is so BEAUTIFUL!!! We haven’t talked before, we are Dean & Cyndi James from Auburn, CA. We belong to the Waiting for 1st Child group. We have been following your website since you got your referral. Thank you so much for sharing this wonderful moment. We can’t wait until we have ours. We still have a long while. You guys enjoy this time. We can’t wait to see more.

  • Shelley Fredricks

Congratulations!! She is so beautiful! We are so thrilled for you guys. The boys loved watching her play with the cups. They were cheering her on as she tried to get the blue one. 🙂 I told them they would get to meet her at church very soon. Can’t wait to see your whole family and celebrate with you very soon. 🙂

  • Amy Stark

Oh! these are so amazing Louannie….What a special gift you have in Nadia. She is so inquisitive, quiet, contemplative!, while I hear other babies bawling in the background! I am so happy for you both. You are wonderful parents. Thanks for letting us share in your joy…. amy

  • Thanks everyone. Your posts are so fun to see. Nadia and Daddy are sleeping now, but hopefully we will get more photos up tonight (China time) so you can see the cutie in her first full day with us. She is just the best little baby and we are practically in tears that God has blessed us with such a great child.

  • Lina

    Oh My Goodness!

God has blessed you both with the most perfect baby girl. She is so precious and so perfect, and oh so sweet! I can’t wait to see more pictures. Watching the video just made me sob like a little baby. You can just tell that Nadia knew right away that this is her mommy and daddy. I love her so much already and can’t wait to kiss her and hug her!

    Congratulations to you both!

    Love, Lina

  • Your video was very touching. The first few seconds of the video where Mamma was trying not to burst into tears at the happiness of receving her child nearly made me teary.

As an aside, I suspect you are using the same agency we did (twice). When you mentioned your guide’s name was Michael, I was wondering if it was the same as “our” Michael from April of this year. In your video, I could hear his familiar voice shouting out suggestions. Tell Michael “Hi” from one of the 11 families he guided to Chongqing in April 2007!

He’s quirky and funny, but a very good guide.

  • Laura

Isn’t God just amazing? When I see the video of the three of you, I see complete trust in her eyes. It doesn’t get any better than that. She was definitely curious about you, so tired, so curious…. but VERY comfortable and trusting. The ONLY difference I see between Nadia and a baby that’s been with their family since birth is the curiosity in her eyes. In such a short time she’s smiling and playing. I do believe that God’s mighty hand has touched all the fine little details in all this. Your life is completely different now, but in a way that enhances it and beautifies it. I like to tell all new parents, don’t rush it…. they really do grow up in the blink of an eye. Nadia I can’t wait to meet you!!!! From your honorary Aunt Laura. Love you guys, and I can’t even put into words the emotion that controls me right now! What a blessing!

  • Durge Nosfentor

Congratulations! The end of one saga and the start of a new and great one. Next thing you know the years fly by and she’ll be saying: “But Daddy I love him!” NNOOOOO!!!! ha ha

  • Stephanie Petlow

“She is so beautiful!” You will hear that so much in the years to come from everyone who sees Nadia. God has blessed you both with a beautiful treasure and we are so proud to be Nonni & Papa! She will blossom & grow so fast–hang on! just like you have.

    Love you so much:)
    Mom & Brian.
Here comes the next case of Kleenex!

  • Lina

I have watched this video a million times. I just love her so much already.

  • Quite possible the cutest and happiest baby I have seen yet!! CONGRATULATIONS! She is beautiful, and you have made my day! Thanks!

  • What can we say, she is as beautiful as we thought she would be!! The video made us feel like we were there with you, crying, smiling, laughing the whole works. She went right to you, she definitely knew you were her parents. Can’t wait to see her!

We are practically breathless trying to take in the whole scene of your holding this precious little girl those first minutes with everyone else around you experiencing the same event, all on the other side of the world!! We can’t take it in! How beautiful! How wonderful!

In the spirit of Ed as she cries out to H.I.:

    Your daughter is beautiful. Congratulations!
I wanted to add that our handover was exactly like this! Our girl reacted in exactly the same way. She was all about the observing and the thinking. Also, I held out from the crying for about the same length of time!
We’ve been home eight months and our daughter has blossomed. She has adjusted beautifully so far. She’s still the One Who Watches And Thinks, she’s also full of intelligence, fun and energy. I’m sure Nadia will be exactly the same.
    Congratulations again!

  • Mei-Ling

    She is precious!!!!!!!!!! Sweet!!!!!

Iam so happy for yoy and your husband.

A big hug from Fort Worth

    Mike and Louanne,
We are so happy for you! I cannot wait to meet Nadia. She is so beautiful and happy. I’m sorry I’m so late sending an email but I just got a new computer (been having computer problems for a while). How wonderful to have such awesome memories on tape! She is such a joy and I cannot wait to hug and kiss her.
