Thankful Thursday

  • For my Mom’s Group starting up again. I have missed this time with my friends.
  • For Dani doing great in the nursery today during Bible Study.
  • For the co-op going well. I am teaching art again and the kids make me smile.
  • For the weather cooling off (a little bit) down here.
  • For Nadia loving Taekwondo and doing so well at it.
  • For Amelie loving dance! She is doing tap and ballet this year and we are so excited she has found something she enjoys.

Day 3 at the beach 2014

For day 3 at the beach it was raining off and on and our girls (especially Amelie) were worn out and needed to rest. Even with bug spray we had been eaten alive the day before coming back from the beach and our itchy and swollen girls needed to relax. After breakfast the girls got out the various kinds of Lego’s that the Hebert’s have for their grand-kids. Then we let them watch movies most of the day which Nadia declared a “perfect kid vacation.” Mike spent the day getting a lot of work done.

While the girls were watching a movie and I was reading a book I heard the sound of the ice cream truck! I was so excited because they never come to our neighborhood at home and the girls have never had the chance to buy from one. We all ran down the stairs and out the driveway in our jammies to catch the truck. Then I let the girls eat their ice cream before lunch which was really exciting for them. Nadia said it was another “good vacation thing.”

This makes me smile every time!

After nap time the girls watched another movie and then we decided to go out to have Mexican food at a place the Hebert’s had suggested.

Day 1 & 2 at the beach – 2014

Months ago our friends the Hebert’s asked us if we wanted to rent their place in Galveston while they took an amazing road trip back east. We quickly said yes and on September 4th we headed for Galveston. It’s funny how relaxed we are when packing up the car and hitting the road when we only have 5.5 hours to drive compared to 2 days to get to the east or west coast. We drove down and after unloading our stuff at the Hebert’s awesome beach house, we headed over to Target to buy food and a few other supplies for our time at the beach. The girls woke up the next morning ready to hit the beach before breakfast, but we made them at least stop to do that. Our good friend Laura happened to be in town and came to hang with us at the beach on the first day. Now on with the photos!
