Pumpkins at the Dallas Arboretum

Many people have suggested that we go to see the Dallas Arboretum, but my friend Kaye really sold me on it and on getting a membership. We managed to get over there on the last day of the Pumpkin Village at the end of November which was great since we had missed going in the fall. It’s a beautiful place and I am going to let the photos speak for themselves. This first blog post is all the types of pumpkins they had on display.

Nadia was really excited when I told her this unit study on the brain had come out and she asked me to buy it right away. It took us a while to get around to it because we were working on other stuff, but it was a great one! We learned all about the three main parts of the brain with lots of interesting videos and informational websites. Additionally there was a “Brainiac of the Day” which featured people like Dr. Ben Carson and Thomas Edison.

Working on one of the parts of her lapbook. The favorite memories she picked out were very sweet and the pictures she drew are super cute! Nadia found so many things about this unit study amazing and was so happy to finally complete it.

Thankful Thursday

I am thankful for the outpouring of love and support we are feeling from family and friends as we wait on our Travel Approval. The photo above is just one example of that love. Our sweet friends the Eason’s sent these “carry on bag” activities for the girls. They were so excited that they posed for the photos and then put them in their new backpacks.
