If you know Nadia you know that she L-O-V-E-S Curious George. So of course that is what the theme of her party was this year. We had party games for her and her friends. Pin the butterfly on the log with a George mask.

Then it was time to open presents. The big hit was the stuffed Michelin Man and Michelin Dog. Nadia adores the Michelin man and Mike found one online to give her.

Thankful Thursday

  • I am thankful for the KIDS HOPE program and the fact that we are in our 10th week with 33 mentors going this school year.
  • I am thankful for my job with World Vision, it has been great to get to know people willing to volunteer their time on behalf of the children the world has forgotten.
  • I am thankful for the ability our family has to put Nadia in things like art, music and dance class.
  • I am thankful for Mike and Nadia – they are the best family a person could ever hope for.
  • I am thankful for the 2 upcoming weddings that we are going to be a part of.

Happy Veteran’s Day

Thank you to all the veterans and currently serving military people that we know and love. Thanks for your service to our country and for the sacrifices your families have made to serve our country.

God Bless and keep all the members of our military.

My mom came to visit last weekend and had a great time. The photo above is my favorite of the weekend. Nadia was watching Nonnie pack for the trip home and then needed to bring her bags too. This was right before we got in the car to go to the airport. When my mom arrived on Friday it was a play fest for her and Nadia. For dinner we headed to Pappasito’s (of course) and then a little more play time before bed.

Nonnie Visit 2009

On Saturday we headed for Central Market for my mom to buy supplies to make homemade marinara. YUM! It was awesome and our spaghetti and meatball dinner fueled us up for the trick or treating that night. The play continued on Sunday and I think that they found every “little people” in the house.

We also did arts and crafts on Sunday.

Nadia took every opportunity to play with Nonnie and even jumped on her which was quite a surprise 🙂

I am so glad that my mom had a chance to come out and spend the weekend with us.
