Thankful Thursday

What did I do?

  • For friends. My life is made richer by the people that touch my life.
  • For getting to spend my days with Nadia. It’s so fun to be a mom and watch all the entertaining things she does. The photo above shows how entertaining the wipes suddenly were today ๐Ÿ™‚
  • For Nadia taking more steps each day. When she is distracted she really gets going. But if you try to get her to walk she just sits down. It’s cute.
  • For my friends in China now who will be coming home in the next few days (Terri and Maureen). And for people who left this week who will see their babies face this weekend (CTG). Have fun!!!
  • For how fast Nadia’s hair is growing in and how cute it looks going 12 different directions in the morning.
  • For a dear friends mom finding out that her cancer was removed and she doesn’t have to have chemotherapy.
  • For Good Eats – don’t laugh…it’s an awesome cooking show with good recipes AND learning.

Go WVU!

Thankful Thursday

I missed last week because we were on vacation. But the first thing Iร‚ย want to do is offer a shout out to the girls at Rayne Soft Water in Ventura, California ๐Ÿ™‚

  • I am thankful that we were safe during all our travels. 4 flights and driving around California and Colorado.
  • For Nadia getting the chance to see/meet so many family and friends. The list is very long, but she got to see Nonni again and meet Papa, Great Grandma and Grandpa Petlow….plus many, many more people.
  • For the fun time that Nadia had with her Aunt Michelle (who was positively dying to meet Nadia!!!). They hit it off at the pumpkin patch – great idea lil’ sis.
  • For Nadia getting to see the west coast beach on a sunny day.
  • For getting to take Nadia out in the snow for the first time in Denver.
  • For this occurring in the span of 3 days ๐Ÿ™‚
  • For all the clothes and purple jacket that the Peterman’s passed down to us.
  • For the delicious muffins and cupcakes Jess and I made. It’s all about the food!
  • For the Pumpkin Pie Body wash from the Petermans…..it ROCKS!!
  • For getting to see the “Garden of the Gods” and the “Cave of the Winds” in Colorado Springs.
  • For the furry Crocs from my mom.
  • For the college fund that Grandpa Greg and Grandma Brooke set up for Nadia this week.
  • For all the great photos we got on the trip……which will follow in the next post I make.

Thankful Thursday

Grammie, Louanne & Nadia

I am thankful for my Grammie. For years now we have had “birthday lunch” at Italiani’s to celebrate our birthdays. With Nadia being an October baby too, she was added to the mix this year.

I am thankful that Mike got me a birthday card from Nadia with a gift card inside and signed it with her “chop” name stamp from China. It was my first Mommy card and I was so excited. He left it in her crib, so I found it when I was getting her blanket to rock her back to sleep in the middle of the night. Too cute!

I am thankful that Nadia took her first tentative step on my birthday. She was holding on to me with one hand, then let go and stood for a second or two. Then she got back up and let go again, stood there and then took a step with her left foot. Then she promptly fell over.

I am thankful that all the mentors have been introduced to their kids for the KIDS HOPE USA program and starting next week, the program will be in full force with 24 members of our church mentoring in the school each week. God is good!

I am thankful for all the calls, cards and emails I got yesterday wishing me a happy birthday. I am grateful that I have such great friends and family in my life. Below is a photo I grabbed off Jacquelyn’s blog. She took this at the sip n see the night before Nadia’s baptism.
