Halloween 2014
Dani's 1st trick or treat

This year we changed up our order of events and started at Paula and Roger’s house. Then we headed over to visit with Grammie which is always fun. She was ready for all the candy she could get after stopping at the first two places.

Once again went to the Hometown neighborhood to trick or treat. The photo above was taken at a house that really does it up each year. I think it’s several families that go in together. In past years they have done the Wizard of Oz and Pirates of the Caribbean. This year they did Peter Pan and it worked perfectly with our costumes. I love that this family was willing to take photos with anyone who came by. So fun! Dani was pretty excited about the candy, but she kept wanting to stop and eat it while we were trying to keep her moving. And quite often she wanted us to just get the candy for her, but we made her go right up with her sisters if she wanted it. She was so stubborn about it she ended up with less candy than the other two girls, but she didn’t know the difference in the end.

After we were trick or treated out we headed over to Bubba and Laura’s house for our end of Halloween tradition. We had a great time over there and I didn’t take a single photo because I was so busy talking and laughing.

Nadia’s 8th Birthday Party!

This was a big year as far as birthday parties go. Nadia designed every part of her cake, even down to the colors. She explained to me what she wanted and created the Lego set up because there are no Frozen Lego’s on the market yet.  The back part of the cake is the first scene in the movie with the men who break the ice. The front scene is when Anna and Elsa are little and playing in the ballroom. I think it turned out great and she was so happy that I was able to create what she wanted.

The next big thing was that we made it a road trip party so only a few kids could come and for the first time ever it was all girls. Amelie was super excited that she was the only 5 year old with a bunch of 8 year olds. The party started at our house for cake and present opening.

After all the presents were opened we piled into my car and headed for my friend Laura’s house to watch “Frozen” and have an early dinner. Nadia requested Chick Fil A, popcorn and pasta for the food. When we drove up to the house the girls were in awe that it looked like a real castle which made me smile.

After the movie and food we headed back to our side of town and I took the girls into 5 Below. I gave each girl $8 to spend because Nadia was turning 8 years old. They were hilarious trying to decide, do math and compare their choices with the other girls. Almost every girl picked one of the TY Beanie Boo’s. I am convinced those have some kind of power Hypnotoad power over little kids 🙂 Once we were about to pay I texted the parents to let them know they could head back to our house for pick up. While the girls waited for their parents they opened their gifts and played in Nadia’s room.

The party was a lot of fun and the girls were really sweet together and kind to each other. They were so loud in the car all talking over each other that I couldn’t help but laugh thinking about how this will be my life for at least the next 16 years. What a blessing 🙂

Thankful Thursday

I am thankful for the wonderful vacation we had Thanksgiving week. We visited family in Albuquerque, NM and friends in Denver, CO. It was very relaxing and fun.
