TT – In a different way

Louanne on Apr 24th 2008

I decided to do the Thankful Thursday in a different way today. See what you think and ADD your own in the comment section :)

  • The price of gas - I am thankful we are blessed to have 2 dependable cars for our family.
  • Cleaning the bathrooms – I am thankful I have 3 toilets to clean.
  • Doing laundry – I am thankful that my family has so many clothes to wear.
  • Dishes – I am thankful that we always have plenty of food to eat to get those dishes dirty.
  • Diapers – I am thankful that we have Nadia who needs diaper changes.
  • The never ending coverage of the primaries – I am thankful that I live in a country where you ACTUALLY get to vote.

I am thankful for snow (sort of) because it will provide extra moisture in the soil for the crops in the countryside where I live (okay Lou, I am trying). I don’t actually live in the countryside, but never mind…

I am thankful for having so much work to do in my job because it helps me to help others (this I am totally sure of)

I am thankful for the need to clean up my DDs toys because I have my DDs…(totally sure of this one too)

Great way to look at things…CTG

Oh CTG that was good. I know the cold is rough, but like storms here, we need the rain for the soil.

I love it, Louanne! What a neat way to think about things…Hmm…I’ll give it a go.

Working the nightshift & trying to take care of Elliott the next day – I am thankful that I have a job because we need the money…and I am thankful that I have my sweet baby, Elliott!

Home repairs – I am thankful that we have a home to live in…even if it means we have to take care of it.

Cooking dinner – I am thankful that we have food for me to cook.

Exercising – I am thankful that I am not starving for food…even if it means that I need to exercise to fit in my clothes!

~I am thankful for my cold; it makes me really appreciate when I am well.
~I am thankful that my puppy peed on me yesterday; that way I have an excuse to wash my hands! And it gave my husband an excuse to laugh at me.
~I am thankful that my children and husband leave messes everywhere; I go crazy when they are at school/work and there is nothing to do!
~I am thankful for a loud house! Peace and quiet are over-rated; I’ll take laughter and squeals of delight anyday.
~I am thankful for my floors that I mop and vaccum and our beds that always need sheets changed; if I didn’t have floors or beds to clean, we’d be sleeping on a dirt floor.

ANIMAL POOP (Picking up dog poop, cleaning out rat bedding, cleaning out the turtle aquarium, cleaning out the fish bowls) —- I am thankful that my love for animals is also in my children and that we get so much pleasure out of loving them. Would be nice if my husband shared our feelings or would at least take pity on me and clean up a little poop once in a while. hahaha

Jobs – I am thankful that Adam and I both have good jobs at great companies that are doing well in this economy.

  • Shell Bell

Lack of sleep: I am thankful that my immune system can manage minimal sleep and not get sick. yay!

Law school: I am extremely thankful for law school…not for the obvious reasons of extremely high stress levels or heightened anxiety…but for the fact that I have the opportunity to be there and know that I’m doing this completely on my own….even if the debt hole that I will be in will be ridiculous. It is worth it!

Extremely ridiculous rent rates: I am thankful for those because they made my apartment attractive to a couple that I’m subletting to this summer while I travel.

My crazy cat: I am thankful for her awkward tendencies that make her so darn lovable that my friend Jamie WANTS to watch her over the summer.

I’m thankful for our house full of boxes from our move: they help me keep the things I hold dear and toss the rest that is not needed.

I’m thankful for the strong winds at our new place: for when the hot summer comes it will help to keep us cooler.

I’m thankful for the long wait for our daughter: it will make us all the more appreciative of her and help our Wendy love and play with her sister more when she arrives.

    louanne,
I really like this thankful thursday. It’s so true. Thank you for making me aware of being thankful for all those things that at first don’t seem like thnigs to be thankful for. :)
