Thankful Thursday

Today I am thankful for some very special friends of ours who are working to adopt some wonderful children through the Foster To Adopt system. I have watched them go through a roller coaster of emotions and conflicting information in the last year. I have prayed for them and cried with them and asked for God’s protection of these beautiful children – no matter where they end up.

I am thankful that they continue to love through all of the uncertainty. Nadia and I went to their house today for a little cake fest for the little girls birthday. She loves pink and so I even made the cake batter pink. We can’t put photos of them on the Internet, so a shot of the cake will have to do.

    Great cake. Wishing your friends well. We looked into that program when we lived in Virginia. What a mess! And folks tell me the China program is messed up? No way, not compared to the Foster to Adopt – at least in VA (and 10+ years ago, I have no idea what it’s like now). the people that can go that route really amaze me, I don’t have the strength. To know that the child you have welcomed into your home – and your heart! – could at any time not be yours. I couldn’t do it.
