Nadia Goes Mobile!

Mike on Nov 26th 2007

We’ve had Nadia four months now, and it has been about the most wonderful four months of our lives. She has come a long way in that time, from not being able to sit up on her own to walking. When we got her she was nine months old, but from a mobility standpoint she was only at about five to six months equivalent in development. In the first month she caught up to most children her age, and now at thirteen months she even exceeds most of the “norms” for her age. What a blessing! She’s now a little monkey running around everywhere…we couldn’t be happier.

Here’s a nine minute video of her three-and-a-half month journey to walking. We hope you enjoy it.

Mike, the video was definitely worth the wait! :) I laughed out loud at some points (the crawling ducky had to be my favorite!) and teared up at others…

Lou, I loved hearing you cheer for your baby girl in the background! And watching her push that chair around the kitchen…:)

What a beautiful girl you guys have! And so many tricks! I always knew she was a GENIUS! ;)

    I love you guys!

Oh, I loved it! Using the chair as a walker … brilliant. :)

Thank you for sharing, I fell in love with Nadia all over again (not that I needed a push!).

    Cheers, Kiy

P.S. I have that same kitchen rug … hmmm, I should unpack it!

Cute Cute Cute! She is just adorable and watching her video reminded me quite a bit of our little Lilli (also from Suichuan).

OH MY! That video was definitely worth the wait! It was hilarious!! Soooo…I’m pretty sure Nadia is going to be a dancer. There was the one part were she was just bouncing up and down while sitting in the kitchen and the other part when she’s in her tie-dyed outfit that she’s doing these adorable future dancer moves. :) If the dancer thing fails, you can always enter her in the world’s strongest baby competition. Moving that chair around was mighty impressive! I cannot wait to see the little angel! That video was just the thing I needed to start my Monday morning off right! Thanks Mike for putting it up and I love you guys SO much! Cannot wait to see you three!!!!

Give my baby a big hug and kiss for me!!

    love
    me :)

That is so cute! The chair “walker” is very novel – perhaps you have an inventor on your hands!

Oh, so fabulous-N is so determined and earnest-I laughed and cried and made john watch it with me. The best part though, was Louanne’s happy face. Thanks for sharing! ~Lisa

My mom and I watched the movie. She was so adorable! We watched her play and roll around and see her try to get up–and fall back down again. She was SOOO CUTE looking at her trying to do that! I also liked seeing Nadia in the picture at the beginning of the video and see how much her hair has grown so long. She was as cute as could be! I could not ask for a better baby. She was so fearfully and wonderfully made :)

Thanks for sharing the video with us!

    Much love,

Nadia is just adorable and is such a happy baby, they are just such Blessings!!!!!! My Lily did not use the chair instead she would push her hairchair around everywhere, along with our dog who was doing it to try to get the food she left in there. LOL

oops, I meant highchair, not hairchair!! LOL That’s what happens when you don’t get much sleep. LOL

The video is great! I loved watching how much Nadia has changed since “gotcha day”. As David and I watched, he said “She is going to have such a happy life because she’s got parents who love her so much!”

What an amazing blessing!! I just love to see and hear that! When we received our boy, the social workers told us that he was so far behind, we probably wouldn’t see improvement for a long time, if at all. However, our Lord sure proved them wrong, and within the first few days we started to see amazing improvement and by three weeks he was 2 lbs 14 ozs heavier, an inch and 3 quarters longer and had jumped the percentile chart by 6 points, and he was wearing clothing appropriate to his age and trying to walk….he was still just 8 months old!! How amazing our God is!

  • Matt, Jenny, Josh

This video is great! Josh is at the point of walking about ten feet until he plops down. He’s already into EVERYTHING so it’s only a matter of time (a short bit of it, too) before that is magnafied by ten!
