$.58

Louanne on Feb 22nd 2009

At Office Depot this week I got all of this stuff for $.58!!! They mailed out a $25 off $25 coupon valid on anything except HP ink and technology items. I know all of this is worth more than $25, but they are having a killer clearance sale and that’s how I stretched it so far. They are having a deal where you buy the easy open binder and get a free box of page protectors, the glue sticks were $.01 a package and the markers were $.44 a package.

At the end the cashier turned to the people behind me and said, “Now this lady is a smart shopper.” I just beamed with delight because it was a coupon deal and I am such a nerd who loves office supplies.

So smart…and how cool that the cashier gave you a shout out! My only question is…what are you going to use the tabbies, the binder and sheet protectors for?

Tricia- I was actully going to say why, but then I didn’t think anyone would be interested, so you made me smile.

I have about 18 months of Family Fun and Wondertime magazines stacked up and I have been going through each issue and cutting out some pages and then recycling the mags.

The binder is going to have craft ideas, educational articles, vacation ideas and child friendly reciepes. Many of the things Nadia won’t be able to do for a while, but the binder can keep it all organized.

The tabbies are for marking new reciepes in cookbooks that I want to try.

Wow, great! I too am an office supply junkie. I love love love new (sharp) pencils and pens! And oh, paper, glorious paper. Funny, I don’t take the time I should anymore to write letters (yo! email!) but I still love paper and pens.

I love your ideas for the binders. I have to say, I am too lazy (and I don’t have the storage space anymore) for the binder idea. I did that at one time with all my Cooking Light mags. (Like, all 12+ years!) But I just couldn’t keep up. Now when I see something I want to keep out of a magazine I tear it out and scan it and put it into folders in my computer. Now, if my computer crashes I am going to be SO sorry! That reminds me, I better back up soon!

I love all your sale and savings ideas, keep ‘em coming!

    Cheers, Kiy

(P.S. How did you get onto the mailing list for the awesome coupon?)

Great idea for the craft projects!

I was thinking of putting all of BabyPs artwork in sheet protectors and then in a binder, and even got a box of sheet protectors at a flea market this weekend, but it turns out construction paper is larger than 8.5×11. So maybe I’ll use them as you plan to!

I should maybe check out the clearance stuff even without the coupon!

That’s my girl! See all those years of clipping coupons has paid off!!! By the way….. jk, the Michael’s coupons will keep coming from the “Golden State”.

You are my coupon hero! I get some of their coupons, but don’t think I got the $25 on $25, just a $10 off $50.

I love it when you share your savings story’s it encourages me to keep up my bargaining ways. I had to buy cat food the other day & fumed that I didn’t have a coupon to use on the brand I feed our cat.
I felt better though cause they were having a sale on the Hershey’s Dark candy bars plus I had a BOGO so they netted out to be .25 / each (regularly .75).

Love your craft idea too. I need to do that with some scrapbooking mags that were recently given to me.

Maddy’s – I think the coupon came addressed to the “worklife awards” I had signed up for.

And as for the scrapbook binders – I have 2 that are filled with ideas!! It’s really a great way to be able to flip through quickly.

You’re awesome! I LOVE office supplies, too. Haven’t been around them since the “Post Baby Budget” started. I’m SO jealous! Love those Uniball pens – they’re the best!
