17 month stats

Louanne on Mar 31st 2008

It turns out that Nadia only gained 2 ounces in China. I have decided that her being in 12 layers of clothes per day caused us to believe that she had gained because we were carrying her around. Hee hee. She did grow 1 inch though, so I was right about that. Now she is in the 53% for height, but she is still in the 5% for weight. We are going to have to go through all her clothes again. She has been in 12 month clothes for a couple months and they are baggy around the middle, but some are too short now.

    Hi Lou,
No worries…height gain is fabulous…the way to Miss N’s weight gain is well to add lots of good butter/cheese sauces to her food and well there is no place like home to do that….you can make your famous mac and cheese…and she will love it….Hope you are not as exhausted…Take care. CTG

Hi, Louanne, I’m Ruth Ann’s mom, Sharon, the one who made the cards you bid on and won. Rue sent me your blog, so I thought I would respond. Nadia is such a cutie-pie. We have been to China twice, so it was great to see your photos. Very interesting country and what a change in the 10 years since our first visit. Hugs from MI, Sharon

5% for weight — well OF COURSE BabyP is heavier than Nadia — she’s in the 97% percentile!

They say that Asian babies are smaller — I can only imagine how big BabyP would be if I weren’t Chinese!!!

Alyssa is growing so much faster than I ever thought possible. Everyday I think she is taller and heavier, but unlike Nadia it is not an illusion. LOL At 16 months Alyssa is 1 1/4 inch taller but several pounds heavier than Nadia. But in addition to growing bigger each day she is also growing more beautiful as well. Nadia is getting cuter each day also.

We really enjoyed getting to follow along with your journey and hope to see you soon.
