Uh huh…..Mm hmm
Louanne on Aug 31st 2008
While waiting on me to run inside a store this exchange was started by Nadia. Who knows where she got it, but it was really funny and she has been doing it all day today too. When we both repeat after her she really starts laughing.
Nadia: Uh huh (imagine this with lots of feeling)
Mike: Uh huh
Naida: Mm hmm
Mike: Mm hmm
Naida: Uh huh
Mike: Uh huh
Nadia: Mm hmm
Mike: Mm hmm
This continues for a couple of minutes before she starts laughing.
Nadia: Monkey!
Mike: (he’s laughing as he says) “Yes, you are a monkey.”
She continues to entertain us with her sense of humor and new things she comes up with. She is so expressive when she does this kind of thing and then she gives us that sweet smile of hers. Pure joy!

22 months and a playdate
Louanne on Aug 29th 2008
Nadia was 22 months yesterday. She weighed in at 21 pounds 8 ounces. No height growth again so she is still 32″. She said her first complete sentence on Monday. She was eating in her highchair and Mike came in the kitchen to leave for work and she pointed at the chair next to her and said, “Dada. Come and sit!” Too cute!! The cutest words she says right now are “helmet,” “fell” and “clacky clack moo.” The last one being from a book recommended by my Nov 2005 buddies called “Clack, Clack, Moo - Cows that Type”. I highly recommend it.
On Wednesday we hosted a play date for the MOM’s group I belong too. The zebra was the most popular item, Nadia was quick to show the little ones how to bounce on it. It was the first time that she had other little kids over and had to share her toys, but she did well. After about the 3rd time I told her that she had to share and there were plenty of toys, she did great the rest of the time. Here are a few photos.
And the aftermath!

Thankful Thursday
Louanne on Aug 28th 2008
I am so thankful and grateful to God that He gave us Nadia and that we have not faced any major issues with her since coming home. Nadia is a joy and a delight and she is right on target on all her developmental areas. She is petite and always will be, but she is strong and healthy. We are so blessed that God found us worthy to be her parents and to be her family.
I am also thankful for my KIDS HOPE USA volunteers who had to find out today that their mentor children had not returned to the school. My little one has not returned and I have not been able to get a hold of his mom and so I have no idea where they are. My volunteers are tough and they love God and know that He let them be a part of those kids’ lives for a reason, even if they didn’t get to say goodbye. I am grateful that they are going to stay in the program and volunteer to help another child.

Our big project of the year has been to re-do the back yard. (okay, to actually DO something to the backyard is more like it). So a little photo show of what has been accomplished so far. We are totally loving the new stamped concrete patio and the fabulous job Monster Constructors did on it.Â
Before:
During:
Finished!!!! (if you look closely you can see our new gutters too)
Here is a view of the patio where you can see the new fence.

Fun Photos
Louanne on Aug 23rd 2008
Click on the photo above to see the whole set. Mike took these after coming home from Nadia’s 2nd haircut. Notice the cute braid
I won’t be attempting that any time soon as she is way too wiggly.
I think we have another photographer in the family.
