Aunt Michelle and Nadia take over TEXAS!!!

Aunt Michelle on Dec 20th 2007

After 12 hours of travel and 2 plane rides, I finally arrived to Texas!  (FYI: Word to the wise, NEVER, and I mean NEVER give up your seat on a flight for a voucher no matter what the price they try to entice you with! That was the beginning of the end of my day…so I suggest NEVER doing it…moving on….)  Since the flight, it’s been smoooooth sailing! I just can’t get enough of the sweetest little girl ever! On the way home from DFW, we stopped at Rosa’s Tacos and got three delicious tacos for $3.33. What a steal!  Everyone was a bit tuckered out (especially me and Nadia) so we all fell asleep pretty quickly. The following day I just sat around and played with Nadia. I got to meet the little guy that Louanne mentors (who’s just the sweetest little dude), I got to see the church that Mike, Louanne, and Nadia go to and then it was homeward bound for a nap.  I heart naps almost as much as Nadia does!  Like my day could not get any better, we woke up from naps and got pedicures!  Now Louanne and I are the proud owners of red toes and snowmen on our feet. Snowman Toes  And I’m pretty sure everyone in the nail place (Exotic Nails in case you heart our snowmen toes SO much that you want your own…the fine artist’s name is Tony) loved little sweetness.  How could they not?? Duh! Pedicure Time She sat patiently on my lap, mesmerized by the bubbles and the massage chair’s remote control.  It was quite the fun times! Pedicure Time  Well after that, we came home…Nadia napped it up and Louanne and I did what we do best, we chatted it up!  For all of you that know her (and possibly know me), we are non-stop chatter boxes when we are together.  I love it so much! And don’t deny it, you do too!  Once Nadia woke up, the gang went to Michael’s and purchased a gingerbread house that we will assemble today.  We picked up some frozen pizza as well and grubbed down with a schmorgesborg of food!   Mac and Cheese What can I say? This has been a fabulous trip SO far!  I get to eat a bunch, hang out with my sister and brother-in-law and play non-stop with Nadia (the sweetest baby in the whole wide world).   Fun with Fridge Farm

A bit of Thankfulness for this Thursday:

  • I am thankful for the insight my sister and Mike impart on me.
  • I am thankful for Mike’s sarcasm.  It makes me smile :)
  • I am thankful for Loua’s (pronounced Luuuuaaaaa) hugs.  They also make me smile :)
  • I am thankful for Nadia’s kisses.
  • I am thankful for Nadia’s silliness.

  • I am thankful that Nadia recognizes me and smiles every time she sees me.
  • I am thankful that my parents gave me the plane ticket as my Christmas gift.  It was the best gift they could have ever purchased for me.
  • Lastly, but most importantly, I am thankful that my mom is who she is because she is a wonderful woman.  I love you MAAA!

Bath time fun and a new toy

Louanne on Dec 18th 2007

Bath time

Nadia’s hair is getting so long that it sticks out all directions when it’s wet. It was so entertaining to me that I had to snap a few shots during and after the bath.

After Bath

Crazy hair

So it’s not really a “new” toy because we bought it 2 years ago at Ikea after our paperwork went to China, but it’s new to Nadia :)

Thankful Thursday by Nadia

Nadia on Dec 13th 2007

Nadia sells Diet Coke

  • I am thankful for Diet Coke bottles. (Mom and Dad don’t let me actually drink the stuff)

Chatting on the phone

  • For my “cell phone” (I want to be like Momma you know!)
  • For Mac and Cheese - the best food on earth.
  • For my learn and groove table. That is the best toy on the market right now Christmas shoppers.
  • For goldfish - it’s the snack that smiles back.

Nadia & Christmas Tree

  • For the Christmas tree - I like to look at it and touch the ornaments on the bottom.
  • For books - Momma and Dada will read them over and over.
  • For all the people that love me.
  • For stacking cups - need I say more?
  • For learning to walk….it’s much faster than crawling.

Brownies

Louanne on Dec 7th 2007

Nadia famously spit out her first bite of chocolate cake at the birthday party Nonni had (where is the video Nonni?) and so I made a vanilla cake on her actual birthday and she really liked it.

Today I have been baking for a Christmas party we are going to tonight. Once the brownies had cooled I offered Nadia a bite since it had been awhile since she had some chocolate baked goods. She promptly spit it out into her hand, used the other hand to get the crumb off her mouth and took off running. Where she proceeded to smear the spit out brownie on the door of the refrigerator.  I hope the people at the party don’t react like that to the brownies :)
